About Aïcha Chikh

Biography

As a passionate visual artist, Aïcha Chikh explores the soul of materials and shapes. After studying as a free auditor at the Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux, she gained experience in live model and contemporary art workshops.
Abstract Art, often overlooked, has become her privileged way of expression, where imaginary shapes emerge naturally, translating her deep emotions.

When recycled paper regains its nobility

Aïcha Chikh has a special relationship with newspaper, this humble and recycled material that she transforms into papier-mâché. This malleable material, similar to modeling clay, allows her to explore the curves of the human body with sensitivity and freedom. Her unique sculptures push the limits of reality, expressing postures and movements that reveal another truth, the body does not lie.
Through her art, Aïcha Chikh gives recycled paper all its nobility, while instilling an original and daring vision of the human body and materials.

An other look on the human body

The 2023 harvest in Pays de Côtes de Blaye inspired a new series of works entitled Vinarelles. From sketches made in the studio, she paints living models on 300g watercolor paper enhanced by the colors of the region's wine. These unique watercolors offer a singular way to celebrate wine, beyond tasting.

In her work, Aïcha Chikh goes beyond appearances to reveal the poetry of shapes and emotions.
